Drug Bust Nets 2 “Pushers” Amid COVID-19 Crisis

Davao City:  Amid COVID-19 Crisis, elements of RSOG-RPDEU 11 and Talomo Police Station doubled their vigilance in the conduct of police operations against all forms of criminality that resulted in the arrest of two drug (2) pushers in two separate interdictions conducted yesterday afternoon.

Police Leutenant Colonel Ronald Lao, RSOG-RPDEU 11 Chief/PS3, Station Commander, identified the following suspects as: Alan Suerte Manguat, Alias “Allan”, male, 49 y/o, laborer and a resident of Gravahan, New Matina, Davao City and Papeniano Monje Vincoy @ “Dongky”, male, 50 years old, laborer and a native resident of SIR New Matina, Davao City.

“Both suspects are listed in the Directorate for Intelligence Watchlist and have been under our surveillance for quite some time now,” PLtCol Lao said.

Manguat was caught after selling “shabu” to an undercover police officer at around 2:50 PM of April 10, 2020 at Flying V Gasoline Station, Gravahan, New Matina, Davao City while Vincoy was nabbed at 3:30 PM of same day at Purok 1, New Matina Gravahan, Davao City.

Recovered from the two were sachets of shabu with estimated total worth of Php 4,000.

PLtCol Lao said that this seizure continued the push at a community level to reduce the risks associated with dangerous drugs.

“Despite this crisis we are facing now, we are still committed to community safety and that includes to arrest those people that illicit illegal drugs and destroy lives. Rest assured that we will continue to enforce laws at its fullest extent just to make sure that our community (people) will still be safe and sound even after this pandemic,” he said.

Suspects were now detained at the lockup facility of this station and will face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
