The Land Transportation Office (LTO) is all set to rollout the 10 years Driver’s License validity in region 9 by December 1.
Mohammad Yusoph Lamping, LTO 9 regional director, said to prepare he already met with his licensing officers.
Those who can avail of the 10 years Driver’s License validity are those driver’s without any traffic violations recorded.
The regional director said, to renew their driver’s license they must do the five hours Comprehensive Driver’s Education Program either at www.lto.gov.ph or face to face at the LTO Offices.
For Zamboanga City, it can be availed at the LTO office downtown and LTO Ecozone office.
They also have to pass an examination so that they can be given the certificate of completion to be used when they renew their license.
During the renewal process, the office will check if the applicants committed any traffic violations. If they have, they will be issued the driver’s license with five years validity and if none, they will be issued the driver’s license with ten years validity.
The program will start in Zamboanga City, Dipolog City, Pagadian City, and Ipil.
This was made possible by President Rodrigo Duterte. He first rolled out the five years driver’s license validity then made it ten years.
