Davao de Oro:   The Provincial Government of Davao de Oro will request the National Inter Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases to suspend the sending of Locally Stranded Individuals (LSIs) and Returning Overseas Filipinos (ROFs) to the province under the Hatid Probinsya program.

Governor Jayvee Tyron Uy revealed during the special episode of the Serbisyo Oro Mismo on July 15, 2020 that the province will be requesting for a two-week moratorium in the national government’s program on sending home stranded individuals.

“Mohangyo ta sa National Inter Agency Task Force especially those incharge sa Hatid Probinsya Program na hatagan ta og duha ka semana nga moratorium aron maka-prepare ta (para mas) better (nato sila ma-accommodate),” Governor Uy said. (We will request the National Inter Agency Task Force especially those incharge of the Hatid Probinsya Program for a two-week moratorium for us to prepare and accommodate them better.)

According to the data from the Emergency Operations Center (EOC), as of July 16, 2020, some 1,028 locally stranded individuals, returning Overseas Filipinos, and persons under monitoring are being isolated in the municipal and barangay isolation units.

Among the cases isolated are the 76 locally stranded individuals, who benefited the Hatid Sundo Program and arrived last July 6-8, 2020; one of whom tested positive of COVID-19.

On testing, the data from the EOC noted that there are still 926 patients in isolation waiting for swab test.

As to the occupancy, 34 of the 302 quarantine units are fully occupied. The units are placed in 166 elementary and high schools; 33 nursery, kindergarten and day care centers; and 103 municipal and barangay facilities.

“At the same time, ma-set sad nato ang mga recommended policies nga gi-ingon sa mga doctors; and dili nato ma overburden ang atong mga heatlh personnel,” he added. (At the same time, we can set the recommended policies by the doctors; and we will also not overburden our health personnel.)

Among the recommendations of the health officials is a 24/7 personnel for monitoring and security at the isolation units.

Meanwhile, due to breach of protocol in the isolation centers, two individuals separately got the virus from different COVID-19 confirmed patients from Monkayo and Maragusan.

In Monkayo, the patient contracted COVID-19 from the town’s third confirmed case, who went home from the quarantine center without the permission of the Barangay Health Emergency Response Team (BHERT).

Meanwhile in Maragusan, the patient got the virus while visiting her daughter in the isolation center. (PIA 11, Michael Uy)
