Senior citizens from San Roque and Sta Maria on Tuesday receive financial assistance granted under the Local Special Amelioration Program (LSAP), which forms part of the City Government’s COVID recovery and rehabilitation program.
Coinciding with the LSAP distribution was the distribution of cash incentives to octogenarians and nonagenarians pursuant to City Ordinance 539.
Mayor Beng Climaco and District 1 Cong Jawo Jimenez spearheaded the distribution held at the San Roque covered court for the Elderly and at the Sta. Maria Elementary School Covered Court. The activity was facilitated by the CSWDO and the City Treasurer’s Office.
The LSAP for senior citizens is given to elderlies who have not received any social pension from the government.
The senior citizens in the city are entitled to programs and benefits unveiled only during the incumbency of Mayor Climaco. These include the birthday cash gifts under Ordinance 466, giving benefits to octogenarian and nonagenarian residents under Ord 539, Largo Vida program and free movie screening among others.
