The Zamboanga City Medical Center (ZCMC) is now using the drug Molnupiravir for the management of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) patients.
The hospital started using the said medicine February 3, 2022 on 15 patients with moderate Covid 19. Molnupiravir 200mg tablet is given for five days.
ZCMC Toxicolgist, Dr. Aeesha Pingli, said patients who received the treatment were responding well to the medication.
Said medicine has Compassionate Special Permit (CSP) approve for in patients only.
The hospital ordered 8,000 tablets good for 200 patients. Of the 8,000 medicine ordered, 5,000 arrived.
