Zamboanga city has 200,000 children 5 to 11 years old eligible for Covid vaccine

The City Health Office (CHO) has revealed that the city has 200,000 children ages 5 to 11 years old now eligible for Coronavirus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) vaccine as the government’s vaccination expands to the said age group.

Dr. Dulce Amor D. Miravite, City Health Officer, said as of this time registration for the said age group is ongoing at the different health centers.

Miravite assured, the city will start the vaccination program for the said age group will start as soon as the vaccine arrives from the Department of Health.

Pfizer vaccine will be used for these group of children however, with different formulation.

The office is urging these parents and guardians to have their children vaccinated for the protection of the children and family from the virus and in preparation for the face to face classes.

They need to produce documents such as birth certificate of the child and id of the parents or for guardian, proof of guardianship.

For those with comorbidities, they must also have their medical certificate.

Before the vaccination of these group of Children, they first vaccinated children aged 12 to 17yo also with Pfizer vaccine.

In metro Manila, they will start the vaccination of this age group this week.
