Dr. Rody P. Garcia, CHED 9 regional director, said this can be done after they secure authority from the Local Interagency Task Force, they follow the health and safety protocols, and an affidavit of undertaking informing the commission that they provided the necessary health protocol for the students.

The regional director said if all these requirements will be compiled, they can start anytime.

Some of the things needed are the information materials to be placed in the schools reminding the students on the importance of physical distancing, the room must have one entrance and exit, and preparations in case students will havbe symptoms of Coronavirus Disease 2019.

Only 50 to 75 percent of the school population will be allowed and both students and faculty must be fully vaccinated. They will also follow a schedule wherein they will be in school example for four days, after that quarantine for 14 days while other batch of students come in.

For those unvaccinated, he said HEIs are encouraged to provide flexible modalities for these students.

“Let us be proactive in our decision looking at the advantage of limited face to face classes compared to virtual.” Garcia said.
