One hundred twenty individuals were able to avail of the 10 years Driver’s License validity at LTO Ecozone Extension Office from December 1 to present.
Eldelyn C. Delara, OIC Chief LTO Zamboecozone Extension Office, said this is a welcome development because from 5 years, the driver’s license validity may go up to ten years.
Those who availed the 10 years Driver’s License validity are those driver’s without any traffic violations recorded. For Zamboanga City, this can be availed at the LTO regional office located downtown and LTO Ecozone office.
To renew their driver’s license they must do the five hours Comprehensive Driver’s Education Program either at www.lto.gov.ph or face to face at the LTO Offices.
They also have to pass an examination so that they can be given the certificate of completion to be used when they renew their license.
During the renewal process, the office checked if the applicants committed any traffic violations. If they have, they will be issued the driver’s license with five years validity and if none, they will be issued the driver’s license with ten years validity.
This was made possible by President Rodrigo Duterte. He first rolled out the five years driver’s license validity then made it ten years for those drivers without traffic violations.
