The officers and members of the Rotary Club of Surigao City successfully implemented yesterday, February 13, 2022 the distribution of the shelter kits composed of galvanized iron sheets, umbrella nails and tie wires to 31 households in Purok 15 of Sitio Puchan and 60 households in Purok 11 of Sitio File, Brgy. Mat-i, Surigao City.
Mat-i Punong Barangay Reynaldo Olvis expressed his deepest gratitude to the Rotarians led by President Antonio Supera Jr. in sending again another help to the victims of Super Typhoon Odette. Their houses were totally destroyed by the strong wind and flash flood when the river overflowed to the villages.

Purok 11-A of Sitio File Chairman Melvin Ladigohon was so glad when the Rotarians came back bringing the roofing materials. There are 75 affected families in their purok and 168 families in the other purok.

Rotary Club of Surigao City President Antonio Supera Jr. said there were 91 households validated and verified from the list submitted by the villages chief two weeks ago as priority for totally damaged houses.
“We received disaster relief funds from Rotary International District 3800 Disaster Response Grant #435, Rotary Club of Ipil Sibugay in RI District 3850 and District 3860 Disaster Management Inc. as well as from the club’s fund so that the 91 households will received the roofing materials. There were 10 galvanized iron sheets, more than 2 kilograms of umbrella nails, common wire nails and tie wires were given to every beneficiary,” Supera added. (RPN DXKS Surigao via PPJAC)
