Camp Col Rafael C Rodriguez, Butuan City – Authorities of Esperanza Municipal Police station nabbed a wanted person today (November 19) for illegal possession of firearm.
POLICE BRIGADIER GENERAL ROMEO M CARAMAT JR, PRO13 Regional Director says that after months of chasing Melbert Cassion Laque, 35 years old, driver, who have been hiding from authorities despite knowing he has an arrest warrant for illegal firearm possession, the operatives finally apprehended him in Brgy. Balubo, Esperanza, Agusan del Sur.
Armed with warrant of arrest, Laque was apprehended for violation for Republic Act 10591 “Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition” which covers RA 8294 and Presidential Decree 1866 under criminal case number 2021-988 issued by RTC, Branch 4, Butuan City, Agusan del Norte with recommended bail bond of Php 150,000.
Investigation disclosed that Laque accidentally hit two individuals while driving his white motor vehicle. Upon escaping to an unknown direction, the suspect’s firearm fell on the road last May 2021 in Brgy, Simabalan, Buenavista, Agusan del Norte.
