Region 9 – The Department of Agriculture through its Rice Program and in coordination with the Rice Productivity Advocacy Incorporated (Rice Board), Provincial LGU of Zamboanga del Norte, and the LGU of Dipolog City launched the Provincial Hybrid Rice Technology Demonstration in Barangay Sinaman, Dipolog City yesterday, December 10, 2021.
DA Regional Executive Director Rad Donn L. Cedeño in his message encourages the participants to adopt hybrid rice technology to increase rice yield and farmers’ income.
Dipolog City Mayor Darel Dexter T. Uy was grateful to accept the said project in Barangay Sinaman encompassing 100 hectares for the hybrid rice technology demonstration and emphasized the techno demo project will bring progress to the rice farmers in the area.
Present also to give support were DA-FOD Chief Reynaldo Campomanes, DA-Rice Action Officer Evelyn Academia, Provincial Agriculturist Maybel Bustaleno, City Agriculturist Kerr Porlas, the Municipal Agriculturists of Zamboanga del Norte, the participating Rice Seed Growers, and rice farmers.
