Today, flowers were brought to the WWII Imperial Japanese Army Garrison Cremation Site at Surigao del Norte National High School (SNNHS), to pay respects to fallen Imperial Japanese Army soldiers and Imperial Japanese Navy sailors who perished during the period of the Battle of Surigao Strait.

After the battle, hundreds of dead young Japanese sailors washed ashore in Surigao City and were carried by soldiers to this site to be cremated.

Thank you Ma’am Gina Comillas of SNNHS and party for the effort during this COVID-19 pandemic.
