Davao City – The ongoing construction of concrete bridge at Sitio Kulafu, Brgy. Magsaysay, Marilog Dist., Davao City has collapsed, at around 8:40 AM of February 18, 2022.
The bridge is under MCCPI Construction headed by project Engineer Arvin Socapen. According to the engineer, they were on the process of filling the bridge floor with fresh concrete but the bridge suddenly collapsed. The possible cause of its collapse was due to the bonding of epoxy to the three segments of the bridge flooring which might have bubbled causing it to collapse.
The incident caused injuries to three workers, one victim was identified as Felix Camansi, a rigger man under MCCPI Construction incurred right leg injury and the other two were identified as Judy Palomar and Ronald Padernal, residents of Sitio Kulafu of the same barangay which incurred minor scratches. The victims were already brought to the hospital.
