Bayanihan Sa Karagatan

As part of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) continuous efforts on humanitarian missions in the country dubbed as “Bayanihan sa Karagatan”, Coast Guard Station Surigao del Norte headed by the Station Commander CDR ELAINE R PANGILINAN PCG conducted gift giving by providing food packs to the local fishermen at vicinity waters off Brgy. Ipil and Brgy. Mabua, Surigao City, Surigao del Norte today, 14 June 2021.

The said activity was also participated by Coast Guard District Northeastern Mindanao (CGDNEM) under the command of COMMODORE LUISITO S SIBAYAN PCG including all CGDNEM Stations and Operational Control (OPCON) Units.

A total of 200 beneficiaries received the food packs filled with assorted canned goods and 3 kilos of rice which will be a great help to address their daily necessities.

The activity aims to lend a helping hand to the constituents of Surigao del Norte particularly local fishermen amidst the ongoing pandemic in the country which likewise bring about positive impact to the lives of fellow countrymen in this trying times.

Meanwhile, a Coastal Clean-Up activity along the shorelines of Brgy. Ipil was also conducted by the PCG team together with Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary (PCGA) 809th Squadron.

Moreover, it was followed by an Scubasurero at vicinity waters off Brgy. Ipil, Surigao City in order to ensure continuous protection and preservation of the environment and natural resources as well as our marine eco-system.
