Zamboanga: DOH 9 to public: strictly follow minimum public health standard as many are now out

The Department of Health (DOH) regional office 9 is reminding the public to strictly follow minimum public health standard as many are now going outside of their residences.

Dr. Joshua Brilliantes, DOH 9 regional director, said “We maintain minimum public health standard because we want to make sure everybody is safe.”

The regional director himself said that he also notice many are already going out of their residences both young and old.

Minimum public health standard includes: wearing of facemask, practicing physical distancing, frequent hand sanitation, and vaccination.

Aside from these public must also avoid close space, close contact setting, and crowded areas.

He is also urging the local government to regulate the entry in those mostly visited places such as Paseo del Mar.

Meanwhile, he said although we are categorized as low-risk, preparation must be done especially for January, February, and March in case transmission of Coronavirus Disease 2019 happens during the Christmas break.

He is also said DOH hospitals must be prepared for any eventualities. DOH 9 retained hospitals includes: Zamboanga City Medical Center; Mindanao Central Sanitarium; Labuan Hospital; Basilan General Hospital; Dr. Jose Rizal Memorial Hospital; Margosatubig Regional Hospital; and Sulu Sanitarium.
