The City Health Office has reported two Adverse Event Following Immunization (AEFI) on pediatric patients after receiving their Coronavirus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) shot.
City health officer, Dr. Dulce Amor D. Miravite, said one experienced rashes after receiving the vaccine while one experienced shortness of breathing.
However, she confirmed that these two children are now well after monitoring. Pfizer or Moderna are the vaccines being used for the pediatric vaccination.
Currently, 1,174 pediatric patients with comorbidities were vaccinated while 28,222 rest of pediatric population.
Rest of pediatric population are being vaccinated in vaccination centers while those with comorbidities are vaccinated in hospital setting.
Those. Children aged 12 to 17 are now being vaccinated to protect themselves and in preparation for the face to face classes soon.
Vaccination for children continues in the city and being supported by the Philippine Pediatric Society. These are group of Pediatricians who specialized in children’s health.
