Camp Col Rafael C Rodriguez, Butuan City – Police Brigadier General ROMEO M CARAMAT JR., PRO13 Regional Director disclosed that a murder case under NPS docket number XIII-06-INV-21K-313 has been filed against the two suspects who shot and killed a Punong Barangay in Brgy. Jubgan, San Francisco, Surigao del Norte.
The two suspects were positively identified by a witness who were responsible in shooting Punong Barangay (PB) Harry Pajo Amalla, 48 years old while he was driving alone his Gray Toyota Vios on his way home on November 18, 2021. Six pieces fired cartridge believed to be from caliber 45 pistol were recovered from the crime scene.
Based on investigation of San Francisco Municipal Police Station of Surigao del Norte Police Provincial Office, the suspects fled away after the commission of the crime using a black Yamaha STX motorcycle with no plate number attached.
“Crimes committed by these criminals in Caraga will never be overlooked, as we are constantly conducting thorough investigations and gathering intelligence in order to apprehend perpetrators via arrest warrants,” RD CARAMAT JR stated.
PB Amalla was a known pro-mining and supporting mining company operating in San Francisco, Surigao del Norte where he undeniably received threats to his life.
