In his message, OIC-Regional Director Ramel Jamen challenged the members of the irrigators’ associations to always ensure that they meet the consumers’ needs and supply quality produce/products.

“The associations should study the demand specified by their consumers such as the BJMP. Please make sure that you can meet the demands of the consumers before committing that you will supply them with their needs. The associations should have a solid internal quality or control.”

The EPAHP Program, which aims to address hunger and poverty in the country, is a convergence government initiative between the DSWD, Office of the Cabinet Secretary, Department of Agrarian Reform, Department of Agriculture, Department of the Interior and Local Government, Department of Education, Department of Health, Department of Science and Technology, Department of Trade and Industry, National Anti-Poverty Commission, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, Commission on Population and Development, Landbank of the Philippines, NIA, and BJMP.

Under this program, DSWD’s function is to assist in linking community-based organizations to institutional markets to help them increase their income and involve them in achieving food and nutrition security in the country.
