Surigao: Caraga PNP condemns Communist Terrorist Group for disrupting peace and order in Surigao del Sur

Caraga police units were alerted after a roadblock at the National Highway in Surigao del Sur and ransacked the house of a former military last February 10, 2022.

Police Brigadier General ROMEO M. CARAMAT, JR, Caraga Police Regional Director said that Cortes Municipal Police Station and nearby police stations were directed to intensify security measures, monitoring and coordinate with AFP counterparts after receiving information from the community about the presence of armed persons along the national highway in Purok 5, Sitio Lubcon, Barangay Mabahin, Cortes, Surigao del Sur.

Further information received from concerned citizens that members of GF30 led by Joel Mahinay alias Nico ransacked the house and store of resigned Philippine Army officer 2LT Joven Revira while others conducted the said roadblock around 7:40AM.

The region’s top cop vowed that justice will be served to the terrorist and trespassers who are now being pursued by authorities, saying, “Those who committed this crime will not escape from the long arm of the law. They will pay for the atrocities they committed.”

He also assured the residents in Sitio Lubcon that PNP Caraga will always continue to conduct peace and security operations vis-a-vis with the Armed Forces of the Philippines to ensure their safety and security.

“We can only imagine the terror felt by the civilians in the area including the children and for that reason, the PNP Caraga vehemently condemn the senseless act of these terrorist as they invade the peace and order in Sitio Lubcon,” RD CARAMAT JR disclosed.
