Camp Col Rafael C Rodriguez, Butuan City – Authorities arrested two suspects who were among the regional level most wanted persons in Agusan del Sur and Surigao del Sur in a separate operations last Thursday, November 4.
Police Brigadier General ROMEO M. CARAMAT, JR, Police Regional Office 13 Director identified the number seven regional level most wanted person as Edwin Diansay Peñanueva, a resident of Brgy. Bogak, Lingig, Surigao del Sur.
Peñanueva was apprehended with warrant of arrest for violation of Murder with criminal case 2011-1-3673-L issued by Regional Trial Court (RTC) 11th Judicial Region Branch 29, Bislig City with no bail bond recommended.
He was responsible in killing of Rolando O. Tabugon in Brgy. Bogak, Linging, Surigao del Sur sometime on March 2011.
Meanwhile, the operatives of Bunawan and Agusan del Sur Provincial Intelligence Unit arrested Jose Glorio V. Malaspina alias “Impaw”, 62 years old of Brgy. Libertad, Bunawan tagged as number seven Regional Level for Violation of Republic Act No. 10591 “A Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition” with criminal case No. 21-526 issued by RTC, Branch 55, Trento, Agusan del Sur with recommended bail bond amounting to Php 80,000.00.
Malaspina was a subject in a search warrant last February 26, 2021 in his residence. He was able to escape during the operation but operatives confiscated firearms during the search.
RD CARAMAT said that the success of the operations is attributed to the intensified anti-criminality campaign of PRO13 and the strong partnership among the police, and the community.
