Be informed that at about 8:40 PM of August 27, 2020 concerned citizen informed Jose Dalman Municipal Police Station (MPS) and reported that allegedly there was a whipping incident transpired at Oval, Poblacion, Jose Dalman, Zamboanga del Norte. PNP personnel of the said station led by PEMS Marlon M. Requina responded the incident.
Initial investigation conducted by PCpl. Rando Jatico – IOC disclosed that at about 8:30 PM of the same date, both RICARDO MALICAY LUNJAS (victim), 55 years old, widow and Joselito Lunjas Sultan (suspect), 39 years old, married, both residents of Poblacion, Jose Dalman, Zamboanga del Norte were having a drinking session at the house of Joselito Sultan. Afterwards, they came into a heated argument which resulted to the whipping of the suspect using a piece of wooden pestle measuring 2 feet long, hitting the right side forehead of the victim.
Victim sustained injuries and was brought to RHU Jose Dalman for medical treatment. The responding PNP team successfully arrested the suspect, and subsequently brought to RHU – Jose Dalman for medical examination.
The suspect along with the wooden pestle which was used in the whipping was then brought to Jose Dalman MPS for proper disposition.
