Police in Zamboanga del Sur are investigating who shot and killed an escapee of municipal jail of Midsalip last Friday.
Police Regional Spokesman Capt. Edwin Duco in a press statement claimed, investigators are trying to determine the motive and identity of the suspects who shot to death the escapee.
Duco said, Midsalip Police Chief, P/Maj. Edgar Hinoctan identified the escapee as Nestor Dumandos, an escapee from Ramon Magsaysay District Jail, 38 years old an resident of Sitio Guayan, Purok 3, Midsalip.
Initial investigation disclosed a homemade shotgun was used by the perpetrators in killing Dumandos.
PNP personnel of Midsalip Municipal Police Station is presently conducting thorough investigation and follow up operation to possibly identify, locate and arrest the suspect/s, Duco added.
