Umapela ang Phil. National Police (PNP) sa mga deboto ng Poong Itim na Nazareno na sumunod sa mga alituntuning ipatutupad para sa nalalapit na Traslacion.
Ayon kay PNP Officer-in-Charge Lt. General Archie Gamboa, ito ay upang matiyak na walang masasaktan sa tradisyunal na prusisyon ng itim na Nazareno.
Sinabi ni Gamboa na ang tanging hangad lamang ng pulisya ay matiyak na ligtas ang publiko.
Una rito, aabot sa 10,000 pulis ang itatalaga sa mismong araw ng Traslacion sa Huwebes, January 9 para sa mas pinaigiting na seguridad.
We’ll take center stage in implementing a Metro wide law enforcement and public safety operations employing the major event security template for the feast of the Black Nazarene on January 9. Although we do not expect any serious security issue in this event we will exercise utmost prudence and readiness in an anticipation of perinial public safety scenarios associated with the annual event. Some adjustments will be implemented this year including the procession, route and some security protocols. We appeal to the devotee’s and the public for their continued cooperation with authorities and organizers,” ani Gamboa.
