Four barangays compose the latest batch of drug cleared barangays in Zamboanga City as validated by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).
The four barangays were recommended and approved cleared by the Regional Oversight Committee on Barangay Drug Clearing Program (BDCP).
The four (4) barangays are Pasilmanta, Landang Laum, Tictapul and Sibulao. All four barangays are located east of the city. They were declared as drug-cleared barangays last December 27, 2019 pursuant to Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) Resolution No. 3, series of 2017.
Zamboanga City Mayor Beng Climaco-Salazar, on Friday signed the resolution of the Regional Oversight Committee on BDCP, where she sits as a member, representing the local government unit.
The declaration came following a 2-month tedious process on drug-clearing program.
The four drug-cleared barangays joined with five (5) other barangays which were declared drug cleared last October 2019. There are a total of 9 barangays of the 98 barangays in the city declared drug free. The five other barangays drug-cleared are Barangays, Lumayang, Lanzones, Capisan, Dulian in Upper Pasonanca and Tigbalabag.
