The project was under the Microenterprise Development-Seed Capital Fund (MD-SCF) of
SLP. A total of PhP 276,000.00 was allocated for the said project with 24 members.

The Microenterprise Development (MD) Track focuses on starting, expanding, or rehabilitating micro-enterprise activities. This track includes entrepreneurship, technical vocational, and soft skills training.

Moreover, the Seed Capital Fund (SCF) is a capacity-building grant given to eligible SLP participants to finance the initial operations of their enterprise/s. It provides the participants with financial capital to be able to establish and manage their sustainable microenterprise/s, which should provide a stable source of income.

Based on the conducted project identification, originally the P1 Lidong Breeder SLP
Association chose hog breeding but due to the African Swine Flu (ASF), the association
decided to divert their business into Bigasang Barangay.

“Maraming salamat po sa DSWD Sustainable Livelihood Program sapagkat naisakatuparan
na aming proyektong Bigasang Barangay”, Marissa Villote, SLPA President, said.

“Napakalaking tulong po nito sa amin lalo na sa panahong ito na may pandemya. Ito ay
magiging daan para magkaroon kami ng karagdagang kita’’, she added.

On the other hand, the LGU provided the site for their business, assisted the participants in
securing the registration and other pertinent licenses such as barangay, mayor, and retailer’s permit necessary for their business to officially and legally recognize the operations of the microenterprise. And through the guidance of the DSWD, the association will also be prioritized as one of the suppliers for the Supplemental Feeding Program (SFP).

SLP is a community-based capacity building program that aims to improve the
socioeconomic condition of the participants. It facilitates interventions that expand
the livelihood asset base of the participants (i.e., human, social, physical, natural, and financial capital) so they may either have gainful employment or successfully manage a
microenterprise.
