Diocese Of Baguio Denies Involvement On Leaf Leaning Group

The Diocese of Baguio make it clear that neither the Bishop nor the Social Action Commission has direct link to any of the so-called right-wing or leaf leaning groups.

On the statement of the Roman Catholic of the Diocese of Baguio to the faithful and other concerned people singed by Rev. Fr. Rosito S. Pedro, Vicar General and Spokesperson, disclaims that bishop Most Rev. Victor B. Bendico, D.D had any linkage to any right -wing or left- wing groups.

The statement posted in the Facebook page of the Diocese, claimed that in the recent week the Diocese were notified by concern friends and faithful regarding post on Facebook associating the Bishop to an organization which he does not personally know and dealt with.

“The Bishop was addressed in the said FB post as a supporter of this organization for which reason he was red-tagged.” The statement added.

The Diocese denied this false accusation stating among others that they are just promoting and advocating for justice and peace, integral human development and charity, above all, through the fulfillment of her priestly, prophetic and kingly mission/ roles based on Catholic Doctrines and Social Teachings but never on ideologist that sow disunity and sabotage peace.

“We hereby also ask those posting on Facebook to stop red-tagging our Bishop.” The statement reiterated.” (OIC Joe Manzano, RPN DZBS Baguio)
