Cebu City – Gibutyag sa Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) nga nagpabiling na detect ang red tide toxins sa shellfish nga nakuha sa pipila ka mga lugar sa Bohol, Leyte ug ubang probinsya sa Kabisay-an ug Mindanao.
Pahimangno sa BFAR sa dili pagkaon sa maong mga kinhason nga makuha sa nahisgutang mga lugar.
Sa advisory pinitsahan ug Nobembre 5, 2021, Domingo, gipahibaw sa BFAR nga ang mga nakuha nga shellfish sa maong mga lugar nagpabiling positibo sa paralytic shellfish poison (PSP) o toxic red tide nga milapas na sa regulatory limit.
Gitumbok nga mga lugar ang coastal waters sa Dauis ug Syudad sa Tagbilaran sa Bohol; Villreal, Cambatutay, ug San Pedo Bay sa Western Samar; Carigara Bay ug coastal waters sa Leyte; Matariano Bay sa Eastern Samar.
Lakip nga apektado ang Dumaquillas Bay sa Zamboanga del Sur; ug Lianga Bay sa Surigao del Sur.
“All types of shellfish and Acetes sp. or alamang gathered from these areas are NOT SAFE for human consumption,” pahimangno sa BFAR.
“Fish, squids, shrimps, and crabs are safe for human consumption provided that they are fresh and washed thoroughly, and internal organs such as gills and intestines are removed before cooking,” dugang sa ahensya.
Unang gi isa ang shellfish ban sa maong mga lugar niadtong Oktubre 23 gumikan sa red tide toxins.
