Camp Col. Rafael C. Rodriguez, Butuan City – The anti-criminality campaign of Police Regional Office 13 has scored anew following the apprehension of top number 1 most wanted person in Butuan City during a manhunt operation conducted yesterday, August 13.
PNP Caraga Director, POLICE BRIGADIER GENERAL ROMEO M. CARAMAT, JR., identified the arrested personality as Teodolo B. Mag-Aso, 72 years old, and a resident of Barangay Bit-os, Butuan City.
Mag-aso was nabbed in his residence by virtue of warrant of arrest for frustrated homicide under criminal case number 2021-627 issued by the Regional Trial Court, 10th Judicial Region, Branch 4, Hall of Justice, Butuan City dated July 29, 2021.
Elements of Butuan City Police Station (BCPS) 1 in cooperation with the Barangay Information Network launched the operation around 4:00PM.
Investigation revealed that he was the primary suspect in stabbing/hacking his relative identified as Ponciano C. Mag-aso, 60 years old in the aforesaid place on June 7, 2020.
The local court recommended a bail bond of ₱ 72,000.
PBGEN CARAMAT, JR stressed out that the success of the operation was attributed to the support of the public in the campaign of putting behinds bars those individuals sought by the law. (PMaj. Dorothy M. Tumulak)
