Farmer Wanted For Possession Of Loose FAs Nabbed In Agusan Del Sur

Camp Col. Rafael C. Rodriguez, Butuan City – A farmer wanted for violation of Republic Act No. 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act was arrested by personnel of Bunawan Municipal Police Station and 1303rd Regional Mobile Force Company around 8:00 PM last Friday, August 13, in Bunawan, Agusan del Sur.

POLICE BRIGADIER GENERAL ROMEO M. CARAMAT, JR., Regional Director of PNP Caraga identified the arrested person as Reynante De Leon Zafra, 32 years old, and a resident of Purok-Bantayan, Barangay Nueva Era, municipality of Bunawan.

His arrest warrant was issued by Regional Trial Court, Branch 55, Trento, Agusan del Sur dated August 9, 2021 docketed under Criminal Case 21-619 with bail bond recommended amounting to ₱ 100, 000.00.

Zafra was the subject of Search Warrant No. 21-SW-102-B issued by 1st Municipal Circuit Trial Court, San Francisco, Agusan del Sur dated June 14, 2021 implemented last June 20 at his residence.

The operation resulted in the confiscation of a caliber .357 pistol (Smith and Wesson) and two ammunition of a shot gun.

The local police pursued the case in regular filing after the first case filed was dismissed by the fiscal.

“Rest assured that your PNP Caraga will continue to intensify its anti-criminality campaign. In addition, your police will pursue its efforts to account all loose firearms (FAs) in the region to ensure that it will not be used in the commission of a crime against our fellow Caraganons,” RD CARAMAT, JR said.
