Bacolod: Vaccinated Negrenses rise to 1,291,349

Bacolod City – The Provincial Health Office reported recently that 1, 291,349 Negrenses have been vaccinated as of February 12, equivalent to 61.54 percent of the targeted 2,098,421 population.

807,072 more individuals need to be vaccinated to reach population protection against COVID-19, the PHO report said.

Of the vaccinated individuals, excluding those in highly-urbanized Bacolod City, the report added that 1,154,177 are fully vaccinated.

This is an increase from 1,114,788 fully vaccinated individuals as of January 30.

Only cities of Cadiz and La Carlota in Negros Occidental have fully vaccinated more than 70 percent of their targeted population.

However, 10 other local government units, including Pulupandan, EB Magalona, Murcia, San Enrique, Sagay City, Victorias City, Talisay City, Candoni, cities of Bago and Silay, are catching up, as they managed to vaccinate 60 to 70 percent of their targeted population as of Feb. 12.

There also six LGUs, including Toboso, Calatrava, San Carlos City, Manapla, Cauayan, and Moises Padilla, that accomplished less than 50 percent of their target for vaccination.

Provincial Health Officer Dr, Ernell Tumimbang said that they are more than willing to augment the manpower of the six LGUs to improve their vaccination records.

LGUs with less than 10,000 remaining targets, according to PHO, are San Enrique – 5,637, Candoni – 6,719, Pulupandan – 6,845, Don Salvador Benedicto – 8,701 and La Carlota City – 8,959.
