Gasataya said that during their second virtual coordination meeting Monday the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) submitted the engineering requirements, initial design, floor plan and other technical details of the project for review and evaluation by the Department of Health (DOH).

The DOH also submitted a checklist of plans it had complied which the DPWH needed. The hospital is a priority project of the DOH, he said.

The DPWH committed that it will include all suggestions made in the plan that they are finalizing. They are initially proposing a Level 2 three-storey building with 450 bed capacity, Gasataya said.

The hospital is supported by a national law passed by Congress as basis for its establishment. So, they have solid basis for the project to push through, he said.

Gasataya is hoping that the construction of the project will start by early next year. (Chrysee Semillano via The Visayan Daily Star (TVDS), photo courtesy of TVDS)
