PLt. Abegael Donasco, deputy spokesperson of the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office, yesterday reminded police officers that their job is “only to maintain peace and order.”

“Let the Comelec do their work,” stressed Donasco.

She also reminded them not to enter private dwellings in order to help Comelec personnel in the removal of election campaign materials.

The task force on “Oplan Baklas” in each town or city is chaired by the election officer and co-chaired by the chief of police.

Photos of police officers taking down campaign materials of Vice President Leni Robredo, who is running for president in the May 9 elections, became viral in the social media.
