Arrest Of Suspect On Theft Incident And Recovery Of Plant In Piñan MPS

Be informed that at about 2:30 PM of September 20, 2020, Mrs. Trinidad Bustillo Andus 69 y.o., married, farmer and resident of Purok 2, Brgy. Silano, Piñan, Zamboanga Del Norte personally appeared to Pinan Municipal Police Station (MPS) asking for police assistance after she was tipped-off and discovered that her stolen plant was being dealt to sell by an unidentified person to the personnel of Manuel Resort, Poblacion North, Piñan, Zamboanga del Norte.

Thereafter PNP personnel of Piñan MPS composed of PSMS Sisandre Eguia, PSMS Limuel Poracan, PSSg. Emee Monceda, PCpl. Adelo Yurong and PCpl. Eduardo Flores Jr., immediately acted on the report and proceeded to the aforesaid resort and successfully held the unidentified person on the act of selling the Giant Staghorn (Kuwago) flower/plant to the personnel of Manuel’s Resort for ₱ 10,000.00.

The said flower/plant was personally identified by Mrs. Andus including the cut nylon rope attached on the plant as her own which was stolen around 11:30 PM of September 18, 2020. Accordingly, on the said time and date, as she woke up to pray, she noticed someone barged inside their yard. Her husband who was also awaken due to the noise, discovered through the small gap of their window three unidentified persons who were about to leave from their premise bringing a plant.

However, accordingly, they didn’t get out due to fear until they found out early in the morning that her Giant Staghorn (Kuwago) flower/plant was already missing and multiple footprints were seen on their yard.

Furthermore, she then reported the same to their barangay and posted on social media (Facebook) about the stolen plant.

Consequently, with the help of her neighbor Daniel Tomales-security personnel of Manuel’s Resort who has also seen her post, tipped her off about the plant/flower being sell similar to her.

Moreover, Mrs. Andus averred that Giant Staghorn (Kuwago) plant is an endangered kind of flower with an estimate market value of ₱ 16,000.00.

After ascertaining of the particular incident, the said person identified as Pablito Baje Zamora 34 y. o., single, resident of Brgy. Tinglan, Mutia, Zamboanga del Norte was formally arrested and is now under police custody of Piñan MPS for proper disposition.
