Zamboanga del Norte is still in a struggle to battle Covid-19 as positive cases continue to rise. Compared to the total population in the province, these cases are already alarming, especially when the contaminations are consider under community transmission.
It has been said that most of the new cases are medical frontliners who are the most vulnerable in transmission because of their duties.
Patient details are as follows:
077: A 23-year-old male, local of Brgy. Sicayab, Dipolog City with no known travel history. On September 30, 2020, patient developed fever with colds, and subsequently followed with cough and altered sense of smell. He was admitted at Zamboanga Del Norte Medical Center on October 05, 2020 and was swabbed on the same day. Patient is still admitted.
078: An 82-year-old male, from Brgy. Barra, Dipolog City with no significant travel history. Patient showed symptoms of cough and sore throat with associating body malaise last September 25,2020 and was admitted at Zamboanga Del Norte Medical Center on October 02, 2020. Patient is comorbid with Asthma and Kyphosis and is currently admitted. Specimen for RT-PCR was collected on October 5, 2020.
079: A 2-year-old male from Brgy. Gulayon, Dipolog City. Patient was admitted at Zamboanga del Norte Medical Center last October 3, 2020. He manifested symptoms of cough with fever on October 01, 2020. Patient has no travel history and is still admitted. Specimen for RT-PCR Confirmatory Test was collected on October 05, 2020.
080: A 22-year-old male, resident of Purok Lubing Ogis, Brgy. Galas, Dipolog City with no significant travel history. On October 3, 2020, patient developed cough and colds with sore throat, followed with diarrhea and headache the following day. He was admitted at Zamboanga Del Norte Medical Center on October 5, 2020 and was swabbed the same day. Patient is an employee of ZNMC and is still admitted.
081: A 24-year-old female from Brgy. Obay, Polanco, with no known travel history. Patient showed symptoms of cough and colds with undocumented fever last September 26, 2020 and was isolated at Polanco LCC on September 28, 2020. Patient is comorbid with Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus. Specimen for RT-PCR Confirmatory test was collected on September 29, 2020. She is an employee of ZNMC and is still isolated at Ligtas Covid Center-Polanco.
This makes 81 Covid-19 positive cases in total in Zamboanga del Norte with 31 active cases. Top 3 cities and municipalities are Dipolog City with 15 active cases, Dapitan City with 6, and Municipality of Polanco with 5.
The Provincial Inter-Agency Task Force in Zamboanga del Norte continuously calls to the public to strictly follow health protocols as we continue to battle this pandemic.
