The Zamboanga City Medical Center (ZCMC) Department of Psychiatry is set to celebrate National Mental Health week with different activities to increase awareness especially when it comes to mental health in the city.
Dra. Sheila May Aduviso Senior Resident, ZCMC Department of Psychiatry told RPN DXXX, the theme is anchored on “Mental health for all: Unifying voices for greater investment and access”
Activities for the said occasion will be done virtually due to the pandemic Coronavirus Disease 2019 (Covid-19).
The activities as as follows: on October 11 free webinar via Facebook live topic will be depression and suicide among youth: the impact of pandemic, the speaker will be Dr. Van Samuel Calisang, October 17, at 1pm, Patinikan ng Kaisipan, a quiz bee competition via Zoom, October 19 to 23 activities for admitted Psychiatric patients of ZCMC, and October 30, at 6:30pm, another free webinar via Facebook live where the topic is the impact of e-learning on students mental health where the speaker is Dr. Janet Delos Santos.
Aduviso said, for the activities for admitted Psychiatric patients of ZCMC there will be more or less 40 beneficiaries.
The activities for these psychiatric patients according to Aduviso are: singing, dancing, games, film viewing and food will also be provided for them.
Strict minimum health standards will be followed during the activity to avoid Covid-19.
