Two persons were killed when a motorcycle and passenger van collided along the Maria Clara L. Lobregat Highway, Brgy. Manicahan Zamboanga City at 11:15 AM of November 7, 2020. Police Colonel Rexmel Reyes, City Director of Zamboanga City Police Office identified the fatalities as Jenalyn Adlawan Jalon, legal age and Randy Cabayacruz Jalon, legal age, of Brgy Curuan Zamboanga City and both died on the spot.
Investigation disclosed that the Toyota HiAce Van was traveling to the direction of Ramon Magsaysay, Zamboanga Del Sur while the single motorcycle was travelling to the opposite direction of the road and going to Brgy. Lapakan, Zamboanga City and upon reaching the place of incident, the Toyota HiAce encroached to the lane of the single motorcycle that resulted to the accident. Both vehicles involved incurred damages.
The bodies of the victims were brought by their families to their residence at Brgy. Curuan, Zamboanga City and the driver of Toyota HiAce was brought to Zamboanga City Police Station 3 for proper disposition. (PCpt. Edwin A. Duco, Chief Public Information Officer)
