Davao del Norte – 56th Infantry “Tatag” Battalion, Philippine Army under the leadership of LTC Norman A. Valdez INF (GSC) PA, Battalion Commander together with Hon. Francisco Gipulla Jr, Vice Mayor of Talaingod; Ms. Arlyn Bandong, Provincial Director of TESDA Davao del Norte; DSWD represented by Ms. Shera Mae Valentine; MAGRO Talaingod represented by Mr. Alman Manlaonan; Hon. Romy Bucaron, Brgy. Captain of Sto Nino; and PCPT. Cosme Masepequina, OIC MPS Talaingod culminated the Community Support Program (CSP) at Sitio Kaylawan, Brgy. Sto Niño, Talaingod, Davao del Norte.
The CSP team in Sitio Kaylawan was deployed to identify issues and concerns of the IP community and address such issues through converge efforts under the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC).
The culmination was highlighted by a dialogue with the community that discussed the efforts of the different agencies in making Sitio Kaylawan a peaceful and conflict-resilient community.
LTC. Valdez expressed his gratitude to the agencies who extended their efforts and support to the IPs of Sitio Kaylawan and for the hope given through the different government programs that aimed to capacitate and insulate IP community from CTGs influence.
Hon. Gipulla also assured that the LGU Talaingod will continue to support the community through the different programs intended to uplift the lives of IPs not just in So Kaylawan but in the whole municipality of Talaingod.
After the dialogue, the community received food packs from DSWD, corn seeds from MAGRO, assorted clothing from Eagles Club and treat meals which benefitted the IPs of the community. (CMO 56th IB | OIC Michael Manguhig, RPN DXKT Davao)
