Zamboanga: Python released at Pasonanca Natural Park

Authorities release a female reticulated python at the Pasonanca Natural Park and watershed in line with the City Government’s program on wildlife preservation.

According to Assistant City Veterinarian Dr. Arnedo Agbayani, the 13-feet long python was earlier rescued and turned over to authorities. It weighed 16 kilos.

City Veterinarians conducted health assessment and found it to be in A1 condition though some ticks were removed from it. It was subsequently released at the Pasonanca Natural park and watershed.

Reticulated pythons (Python reticulatus) are said to be the world’s longest snake. They can grow up to 28.5 feet (8.7 m) and are known to be fantastic swimmers, according to Reptile World Facts.
