74th IB forces intercepted a van loaded with ₱ 4.5M worth of smuggled cigarettes while conducting random checkpoint in sitio Ontong, Quiniput, Wednesday night.
As this developed, Mayor Beng Climaco lauded the troops for their commitment and dedication in the campaign against smuggling activities in support of President Duterte’s thrust.
74th IB Commander LtCol. Julius Villena said a squad of the Bravo Company of the 74th IB under JTF Zamboanga intercepted the private van loaded with 107 master cases and 20 reams of assorted cigarettes. The van driver failed to present the necessary documents.
The troops sought the assistance of Police Station 2 under the Zamboanga City Police Office for documentation and proper disposition of the said items.
