Zamboanga City earmarks 5Million Pesos for Taal evacuees

The City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (CDRRMC) chaired by Mayor Beng Climaco-Salazar has approved the allocation of Php 5 Million as financial assistance to families affected by Taal Volcano’s unrest.

The amount, to be taken from the current Local Disaster Fund’s 30% quick response fund, will be caused through the local government units of the areas affected.

Of the total amount earmarked, Php 1 Million will be given to the Province of Batangas while the remaining Php 4 Million will be prorated to other affected LGU’s depending on the number of affected families that will be determined by the City Social Welfare and Development (CSWDO).

The CDRRMC met in a special meeting, held Wednesday, 15 January, at the CDRRMO conference room.
