One dead in a Vehicular Accident in Tictapul
A vehicular accident transpired along MCLL Highway, Brgy. Tictapul, Zamboanga City at 9:45 PM of February 22, 2021 involving one (1) unit green Fuso Truck wing van with Plate No. NEG 3684 driven by Ronel Huesca Calanda, 37 years old, male, married, resident of Napolan Pagadian, Zamboanga Del Sur with Professional Driver’s License No. J09-03-006066, and one (1) Blue Toyota Vios with Plate No. GXH-591 driven by Marjhon Perez Tatoy, 22 years old, male, single, resident of Brgy. Tictapul, Zamboanga City, with Non-Professional Driver’s License No. J13-19-013945. Investigation disclosed that prior to the incident, the Fuso truck was travelling from Pagadian City when its right rear outer tire got flat. It signaled a hazard light and parked along the side of the highway purposely to change tire. The Toyota Vios was coming from Sitio Talaga, Brgy. Licomo, Zamboanga City and was on its way back home to Sitio Logpod, of the same Brgy., was about to overtake the Fuso Truck, however, there was an approaching vehicle from the opposite lane in which the Vios swerved right to avoid collision. As a result, the Toyota Vios bumped the rear portion of the Fuso truck and the front right passenger of the Vios, Abraham Mohammad, 26 years old, male, single, of Lower Tigbao, Brgy. Tictapul, Zamboanga City was pushed under the rear portion of the truck, he sustained head injury and was immediately rushed to Vitali Lying In Hospital on board the Brgy. service of Tictapul and later be transferred to a Tertiary hospital for further treatment. Unfortunately, victim seemed to be already lifeless during the transport wherein the said Brgy. Service brought him back to the said lying in Hospital. Victim was declared dead by the Attending Physician. Furthermore, the driver of the Toyota Vios sustained several bruises. Both driver of were brought to Zamboanga City Police Station 1 for proper disposition while both vehicles were still in the place of accident.
Stabbing Incident
A stabbing incident occurred at Purok 1, Brgy. Rizal, Sominot, Zamboanga del Sur at 10:20 AM of February 22, 2021, wherein victim Gilbert Laluna Nillas Jr, 24 years old, single, farmer, and a resident of P-1, Brgy. Rizal, Sominot, Zamboanga del Sur was stabbed by suspect Allan Albaira Tumanggap, 52 years old, separated, farmer, and a resident of Purok 1, Brgy. Rizal, Sominot, Zamboanga del Sur. Investigation disclosed that prior to the incident, victim and suspect had a heated argument inside the house of victim which prompted the suspect to stab the victim using a hunting knife. As a result, the victim sustained stabbed wound on the lower left portion of his chest. He was brought to Zamboanga del Sur Medical Center, Brgy. Dao, Pagadian City for treatment. The suspect was immediately arrested by the responding police personnel of Sominot Municipal Police Station. Confiscated from his possession was one unit hunting knife. Suspect is now temporarily detained at the said police station while appropriate charge is now being prepared for filing in court.
Shooting Incident
A shooting incident transpired at Ramona Fishing Corporation, National Highway, Purok Lower Lomboy, Brgy. Tuburan, Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur at 11:40 AM of February 22, 2021. Victim was identified as Ricky Perdigez Castro Jr., 21 years old, male, married, self-employed, and a resident of the said place. He was shot to death by unidentified suspect/s using a caliber .45 pistol based on the recovered fired cartridge casing from the crime scene. Further investigation disclosed that prior to the incident, the victim was sitting at the hammock tied at the customer’s waiting area in front of Ramona (Tukuran) Fishing Corporation when unidentified suspect/s armed with a caliber .45 pistol suddenly approached and shot him several times hitting his right cheek and right eye resulting to his instantaneous death. The suspect/s fled immediately after the incident, while responding police personnel of Pagadian City Police Station conducted thorough investigation and follow up operation to identify, locate and arrest the fleeing suspect/s. Evidence recovered from the scene were two fired cartridge casing of caliber .45 pistol, while team from Provincial Crime Laboratory Office conducted crime scene processing. The cadaver is now at Gamalida Funeral Home, Brgy. Tuburan, Pagadian City.
Rape Suspect, Arrested in Molave
Police personnel of Molave Municipal Police Station conducted law enforcement operation through service of warrant of arrest at Brgy. Mabuhay, Molave, Zamboanga del Sur at 1:20 PM of February 22, 2021. The operation resulted in the arrest of Gavino Pison Ochotorina, 58 years old, separated, driver, and a resident of Purok Bulawanon, Brgy. Madasigon, Molave, Zamboanga del Sur by virtue of warrant of arrest for the crime of Rape, docketed under Criminal Case Number 2020-10-4157 dated December 11, 2020 issued by Hon. Analyn F. Ramas-Costanilla, Acting Presiding Judge, Regional Trial Court, 9th Judicial Region, Branch 23, Molave Zamboanga del Sur with recommended bail bond fixed at ₱120,000.00. He is now temporarily detained at the said police station while waiting for commitment order from the court.
Man Arrested in a Drug Buy-Bust Operation in Tukuran
Police personnel of Zamboanga Del Sur Police Provincial Office – Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit together with Tukuran Municipal Police Station and 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company, in coordination with Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency – Zamboanga Del Sur, conducted illegal drug buy-bust operation at Brgy. Mauswagon, Tukuran, Zamboanga del Sur at 11:50 AM of February 22, 2021. The operation resulted in the arrest of Rosier Maglangit Zate, 26 years old, college Level, single, and a resident of Brgy. San Carlos, Brgy. Poblacion, Tukuran, Zamboanga del Sur. Confiscated from his possession were one piece small size heat-sealed transparent sachet containing white crystalline substance suspected to be Shabu, three pieces small heat-sealed transparent sachet containing white substance believed to be Shabu weighing 0.10 grams with standard drug price of ₱ 680.00; and one piece ₱ 500.00 bill bearing serial number BH723736 as marked money. He is now temporarily detained at PDEA lock- up cell, Capitol Complex, Sto. Niño, Pagadian City, while appropriate charge for violation of RA 9165 is now being prepared for filing in court.
Woman Arrested in a Drug Buy-Bust Operation in Tukuran
Police personnel Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit – Zamboanga Del Sur together with Tukuran Municipal Police Station conducted illegal drug buy-bust operation at Purok Narra, Brgy. Militar, Tukuran, Zamboanga del Sur at 2:16 PM of February 22, 2021. The operation resulted in the arrest of Ellen Cabang Balili, 43 years old, high school graduate, married, and a resident of Purok 6, Brgy. Pikinit, Sultan Naga Dimaporo, Lanao del Norte and seizure of one piece small sealed plastic straw colored green containing white crystalline substance suspected to be Shabu, seven pieces small sealed plastic straw colored green containing white substance believed to be Shabu weighing more or less 0.20 grams with standard drug price of ₱ 1, 360.00; one unit cellular phone Nokia keypad; one piece coin pouch used as container; and one piece five hundred peso bill bearing serial number BU273362 as marked money. He is now temporarily detained at PDEA lock-up cell, Capitol Complex, Brgy. Sto. Niño. Pagadian City, while appropriate charge for violation of RA 9165 is now being prepared for filing in court.
Man Arrested in a Drug Buy-Bust Operation in Pagadian City
Police personnel of Pagadian City Police Station together with 2nd Provincial Mobile Mobile Force Company and Midsalip Municipal Police Station conducted illegal drug buy bust-operation at Purok Gemelina, Brgy. Banale, Pagadian City, Zamboanga Del Sur at 11:55 PM of February 22, 2021. The operation resulted in the arrest of Alvan Calunod Sumangsang, 17 years old, male, single, and a resident of Purok Kahayag, Brgy. Dumagoc, Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur and seizure of one piece small plastic heat-sealed sachet containing substance suspected to be Shabu as a buy-bust evidence; one piece small plastic heat-sealed sachet containing substance suspected to be Shabu weighing 0.06 grams with standard drug price of ₱ 408.00; two piece ₱ 500.00 bill bearing serial numbers AW800745 and DC584210. He is now temporarily detained at the said police station while appropriate charge for violation of R.A. 9165 “Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002” is now being prepared for filing in court
Murder Suspect in Tetuan, Arrested
Police personnel of Zamboanga City Police Station 6 (ZCPS6) conducted Law Enforcement Operation through service of warrant of arrest at Natividad St., Brgy. Tetuan, Zamboanga City at 11:20 AM of February 22, 2021. The operation resulted in the arrest of Abraham Enriquez Y Samson, 55 years old, male, married and a resident of Brgy. Vitali, Zamboanga City. He was arrested by virtue of warrant of arrest for the crime of Murder with Criminal Case No. 16678 issued by Presiding Judge Hon Carlito A Eisma, Branch 16, RTC, 9th Judicial Region, Zamboanga City dated February 11, 2000 with no bail bond recommended. He is presently under ZCPS6 custody prior turn over to court concerned.
Porter Arrested in a Drug Buy-Bust Operation in Tugbungan
Police personnel of Zamboanga City Police Station 5 conducted drug buy-bust operation at Brgy. Tugbungan, Zamboanga City at about 7:00 PM of February 19, 2021. The operation resulted in the arrest of Faisal Cuevas Y Sabandal, 47 years old, male, married, porter, elementary undergraduate and a resident of Phase 1, Buguk, Brgy. Kasanyangan, Zamboanga City. A case for Violation of R.A. 9165 was filed against the respondent before the Office of the City Prosecutor assigned to Atty. Edwinlino B. Custodio under NPS Docket No. IX-06 INQ-21B-00196 dated February 22, 2021. Moreover, laboratory examination of suspected shabu yielded positive result in the presence of Methamphetamine Hydrochloride with a total weight of 0.346 gram.
Men Arrested in a Drug Buy-Bust Operation in Siocon
Police personnel of Zamboanga del Norte Police Provincial Office – Provincial Drug Enforcement unit, Siocon Municipal Police Station and 2nd Zamboanga del Norte Provincial Mobile Force Company conducted drug buy-bust operation at Brgy. Poblacion, Siocon, Zamboanga del Norte at about 03:30 PM of February 22, 2021. The operation resulted in the arrest of suspects Melchor Billones Cuesta, 38 years old, male, married, shoe repairman, drug surrenderer during the OPLAN TOKHANG dated May 20, 2017, and Manolo Codoy Decastro Jr. 31 years old, single, male, unemployed, and a resident of the said place. Confiscated from the possession of Melchor Billones Cuesta were the following: four (4) piece heat sealed transparent plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance believed to be Shabu; one (1) piece ₱ 500 pesos bill with serial no. CS828195 (Recovered Buy Bust Money); one (1) piece ₱ 200.00 pesos bill bearing serial number JE885024, with an estimated weigh of .5 gram with estimated value of ₱ 4, 000.00. Suspects were brought to Siocon District Hospital for medical and physical examination then were brought to the said police station for documentation and will be brought to Zamboanga del Norte Provincial Crime Laboratory Office for drug testing together with the pieces of drug evidence for chemical examination and weighing while the non-drug evidence was in the custody of the seizing officer. They are temporarily detained at the said police station for proper disposition.
