Cong. Jimenez Willing To Receive COVID Vaccine In Public

First district congressman Cesar Jimenez Jr., is willing to receive his Coronavirus Disease 2019 (Covid-19) vaccine in public if this will help increase the public’s confidence when it comes to the Covid vaccine.

Jimenez said when asked if he is willing to be vaccinated publicly he said, “we are willing to do that to show that we rely and believe in experts.”

He said, that it is their responsibility to prove to the public that the vaccine is safe.

One of the problem now is the peoples confidence when it comes to the Covid vaccine.

He also advised the public to listen to the medical experts. With the social media, the public must be careful and must always verify what they read.

For Zamboanga City, the city has entered into a Multilateral Agreement with a UK pharmaceutical company for the purchase of 410,000 doses of anti-Covid vaccine AstraZeneca amounting to ₱ 100 million.

The city’s vaccination program will only cover 694,696 people or 70% of the city’s 2021 projected population of 992,423.

Covid entered the city March last year, following the implementation of the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) amid the public health risks of Covid-19.

As of February 22, the city have 4,132 confirmed cases of Covid 19, for the recoveries: 3,879, active cases: 65, and deaths: 188. (R.G. Antonet A. Go)
