Shooting Incident
Shooting incident transpired at Purok 5, Lourmah, Mahayag, Zamboanga Del Sur at 6:35 PM of February 5, 2021. The victim was identified as Lito Banico Canonego, 24 years old, single, construction worker, a resident of above-mentioned place. Initial investigation conducted disclosed that prior to the incident; victim was at their house when two (2) unidentified suspects arrived on board with a single motorcycle. The back rider disembarked and went to the location of the victim then and there suspect and the victim meet up and had a conversation but said suspect suddenly drew his short firearm and shot the victim several times that resulted to his instantaneous death. The victim sustained gunshot wounds in the different part of his body and immediately brought to Mahayag Community Hospital, San Vicente, Mahayag, Zamboanga Del Sur but he was declared dead on arrival by the duty attending physician Dr. Rozenda B. Ramos while the suspects immediately fled away heading to the Municipality of Molave, Zamboanga Del Sur on board in a single motorcycle. The responding PNP personnel of Mahayag Municipal Police Station (MPS) recovered 3 empty shells believed to be from caliber .45 at the crime scene and to be forwarded to Provincial Crime Laboratory, Pagadian City for ballistic examination. Mahayag MPS now conducting follow up investigation for possible apprehension and identification of the at-large suspects and motive of the incident is yet to be determined. Gunman was wearing black shirt and black short with black jacket and black facemask while driver was wearing same description using a single motorcycle Mio 125 color black with blue sticker without plate number attached.

Shooting incident transpired at Purok Manga, Kitabog, Titay, Zamboanga Sibugay at about 8:00 PM of February 5, 2021, wherein victim identified as Jonathan Revilla Amante, jobless, 34 years old, and a resident of Purok Manga, Kitabog, Titay, Zamboanga Sibugay was shot to death by the suspect identified as Mackie Abdulkarim, 40 years old and a resident of Purok Santan, Kitabog, Titay, Zamboanga Sibugay. Initial investigation revealed that prior to the incident; the victim and the suspect were having an argument regarding the bet money on cockfighting. Further, when the victim and the suspect had a confrontation the suspect suddenly pulled a gun and shot the victim hitting his head and shoulder that resulted to his instantaneous death. The suspect fled the scene towards Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay after the incident. PNP personnel of Titay Municipal Police Station are conducting hot-pursuit operation for possible arrest of the fleeing suspect.
Road Crash Accident
Road crash accident occurred along National Highway, Barangay Blancia , Molave, Zamboanga Del Sur at about 6:30 PM of February 5, 2021, wherein one motor cab Honda wave color black owned and driven by Alejandro Vidad Pintac Jr., 46 years old widow, driver in occupation and resident of Barangay Culo, Molave, Zamboanga del Sur and one motorcycle single Honda XRM 125cc color yellow driven by Jeper Bryll Tinambing Pinongcos, 15 years old, single and resident of Barangay Culo, Molave, Zamboanga del Sur who drive without driver license with two backriders Lara Keth Arnejo, 12 years old resident of Gumaela, Barangay Makugihon, Molave, Zamboanga del Sur and Jem Paul Yulo Catampatan, 14 years old resident of Barangay Madasigon, Molave, Zamboanga del Sur meet into a vehicular accident. Initial investigation conducted disclosed that both single motorcycle and motorcab were traversing in opposite direction the motorcab from Barangay Blancia and bound for Poblacion Molave and single motorcycle was also traversing from Poblacion Molave and bound for Ramon Magsaysay, Zamboanga del Sur and upon reaching at above-mentioned place the motorcab suddenly overtook the ahead vehicle and accidentally bumped the opposite running single motorcycle and due to impact backrider Lara Keth Arnejo thrown away and sustained serious injury at her head which caused her untimely death, both drivers and backrider sustained serious injuries at the different parts of their head and bodies and brought to Blancia Hospital Molave for medical treatment, both motor cab and single motorcycle were incurred damages and temporarily impounded at Molave Municipal Police Station. A case of Reckless Imprudence Resulting to Homicide and multiple Serious Physical Injuries was prepared against the driver of motor cab Alejandro V. Pintac Jr..
Arrest of Top 5 Most Wanted Person
Police operatives of Zamboanga del Sur 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company, Tukuran Municipal Police Station (MPS) and Zamboanga del Sur Police Provincial Office – Intel Branch conducted joint manhunt operation thru Intel driven operation at Purok 2, Barangay Navalan, Tukuran, Zamboanga del Sur at 10:00 AM of February 5, 2021. The operation resulted to the arrest of Dondon Baysun Baldicantos, male, 29 years old, single, construction worker and a resident of Purok 2, Barangay Navalan, Tukuran, Zamboanga del Sur, listed as Top 5 Most Wanted Person Municipal Level of Tukuran MPS. He was arrested by virtue of Warrant of Arrest for the crime of Murder with Criminal Case No. 10940-2k13 issued by Presiding Judge Hon. Benjamin R. Lanzaderas, RTC, 9th Judicial Region, Branch 22, Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur dated June 27, 2013 with no bail bond recommended. Arrested person is now under custody of Zamboanga del Sur 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company for proper disposition.
Construction Worker Arrested in Molave for the Crime of Homicide
Police operatives of Zamboanga del Sur 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company, Kumalarang Municipal Police Station and Zamboanga del Sur Police Provincial Office – Intel Branch conducted joint manhunt operation thru Intel driven operation at IBJT Molave, Barangay Maloloy-on, Molave Zamboanga del Sur at about 8:00 AM of February 5, 2021. The operation resulted to the arrest of one Joel Sumandag Magante, male, 48 years old, married, construction worker and a resident of Barangay Salagmanok, Kumalarang, Zamboanga del Sur. He was arrested by virtue of Warrant of Arrest for the Crime of Homicide with Criminal Case No. 7324-2k4 issued by Presiding Judge Hon. Renerio Abraham Ramas of RTC, 9th Judicial Region, Branch 18, Pagadian City dated February 22, 2006 with Bail Bond of ₱ 40,000.00. He is now under custody of Zamboanga del Sur 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company for proper disposition.
Woman Held in Zamboanga City for Estafa
Police operatives of Zamboanga City Police Station 11 conducted operation against wanted person at Porcentro Barangay Tumaga, Zamboanga City at about 10:20 AM of February 5, 2021. The operation resulted in the arrest of Benilda Yao y Garcellano, 60 years old, female, married, and a resident of Porcentro Barangay Tumaga, Zamboanga City by virtue of warrant of arrest docketed under Criminal Case No. 46890 for RPC Art. 315 as amended by PD 1689-Swindling (Estafa) with bail bond recommended of ₱ 48,000.00 issued and signed by Hon. Roncesvalles B. Filoteo, Presiding Judge, of Regional Trial Court, 9th Judicial Region, Branch 32, Zamboanga City. He is presently under the custody of said station for proper disposition.
Drug Suspect Arrested in Zamboanga City Drug Buy Bust
Police operatives of Zamboanga City Police Station 4 led by PMAJ Ramon I Bautista Jr conducted buy-bust operation at Zone II Barangay Mercedes, Zamboanga City about 5:00 PM of February 5, 2021. The operation resulted to the arrest of Niño Uro Enriquez, 19 years old, single, jobless and a resident of Zone II Mercedes, Zamboanga City. Recovered during the operation were Five (5) sachets of suspected shabu with estimated DDB value of ₱ 3, 000 weighing 0.44 grams and Three (3) bills of ₱ 100.00 marked money. Confiscated items were brought to Zamboanga City Crime Lab Office for examination while subject is presently under the custody of said police station for proper disposition.
2 Drug Dealer Arrested in Zamboanga City
Police operatives of Zamboanga City Police Station 11 conducted drug buy-bust operation at Barangay Recodo, Zamboanga City at 10:0 PM of February 5, 2021. The operation resulted to the arrested of Aurello Cabarles y Cabasingan, 38 years old, male, separated, elementary level, fisherman and Billy Lee y Cariaga, 42 years old, male, married, college level, unemployed both residents of Barangay Recodo, Zamboanga City, both newly identified drug suspects. Recovered during the operation were Thirteen (13) sachets of suspected shabu with estimated DDB value of ₱ 60, 000 weighing 8.82 grams and Two (2) bills of ₱ 100.00 marked money. Confiscated items were brought to Crime Lab Office for examination while subjects are presently under the custody of said police station for proper disposition.
₱34, 000.00 worth of Shabu Yield from Drug Suspect in Ipil
Joint elements of Zamboanga Sibugay Police Provincial Office-Intel Unit and Ipil Municipal Police Station conducted buy-bust operation at Purok Mirasol, Barangay Poblacion, Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay at 3:30 PM, February 5, 2021. The operation resulted to the arrest of Jose Armando Estabas Cabrera Jr., (sli/ surrenderer), 30 years old, driver/ online seller, college level, single, resident of Purok Reservoir, Brgy. Don Andres, Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay. Confiscated during the operation were: three (3) pieces heat sealed of suspected shabu with estimated weight of 5 grams and DDB value of ₱ 34, 000.00, one (1) piece lighter color yellow, one (1) piece one hundred (₱ 100.00) peso bill, one (1) piece two hundred (₱ 200.00) peso bill (buy-bust money) with serial number aq250671 and one (1) piece two hundred (₱ 200.00) peso bill (possession). Arrested person is now under the custody of Ipil Municipal Police Station while the confiscated illegal drugs were turned over to the SOCO for examination. A case for violation of R.A 9165 is being prepared against the suspect.
