Military man shoots two civilians in Tabuk, Kalinga

Two civilians were shot by an army man in a village in Tabuk City last night February 15, 2021 killing one of the victims and seriously wounding the other.

The victims were identified as Denver Sangdaan Tubban, res. of Purok 1 and private bodyguard of Kalinga Governor Ferdinand Tubban and Jenner Bananao Ewad, 34 y/o, of Magnao Tabuk City, Kalinga, an employee of Kalinga Prov Capitol.

Suspect Cpl. Denmark Baddongon from Naneng, Tabuk City, member of Philippine Army 503RD Brigade. allegedly shoot the victims at Purok 6, Florendo compound in Bulanao, Tabuk City, Kalinga around 8 o’clock in the evening.

Police Investigation disclosed that the suspect arrived at the area armed with firearm and confronted Denver Tubban to reimburse his two thousand pesos. During confrontation, suspect allegedly fired his firearm several times on the ground and subsequently fired on Mr. Tubban several times when he was about to closed their gate.

Mr Ewad who was on same place, attempted to help was also shot by the suspect.

Mr. Tubban who sustained injuries on his anterior neck, anterior chest, left arm anterior, lower back and upper back was rushed by responding MPU personnel of Tabuk CPS at Kalinga Provincial Hospital but declared dead at about 8:27 PM by attending physician, Dr. Daffodil Odan.

The other victim Mr. Ewad sustained injuries on left side of his buttocks and right chest and was brought to Almora Gen. Hospital and now undergoing Medical Operation. KPPO SOCO team currently processing the crime scene, while manhunt operation is on-going for possible arrest of the suspect. By Joe M. (Source PRO-COR)
