In response to several complaints received by this Regional Office, the public is informed that the application and issuance of Special Permits for the operation of public transportation is done on-line and is FREE OF CHARGE. Moreover, processing and issuance of said Special Permits will only take 1-2 days if all requirements are complete.
With the country placed under community quarantine brought about by COVID-19, all franchises have been suspended. However, the LTFRB En Banc approved Memorandum Circular No. 2020-017, otherwise known as “Guidelines for Public Transportation for Areas under General Community Quarantine (GCQ)”, which has allowed public transportation to operate on a limited capacity and subject to the guidelines set forth by the DOTr and LTFRB.
