Free Ride For Baguio Health Workers Launched

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board-Cordillera (Ltfrb Car) launched today the free ride for health workers as a way to support the continuing battle of the frontline health workers against the COVID-19 in Baguio City.

Pursuant to the Regional Office Circular No. 2021-006, four modernized jeepney units from the Baguio Benguet Transport Cooperative dispatched for a 24/7 free ride starting 6:00 AM on Tuesday, April 27, 2021.

All health care workers including medical professionals, utility workers in medical centers / clinics / hospitals and auxiliary work force in the health industry are encouraged to avail of the free ride by presenting their IDs to the marked modernized jeepney units which will be traversing the city’s main thoroughfares including areas of the different health facilities in the city.

The route structure would include Pines City Doctors Hospital – Magsaysay Ave – Sto Nino Hospital – Lower P. Burgos – Buhagan Rd – F. Yandoc St – Chuntug – Harisson Rd – BGH – Gov Pack Rd – UP Drive – T.M. Kalaw St – North Drive – Leonard Wood Road – Post Office Loop – Fr Carlos St. – Gen. Luna Road -Magsaysay Ave – Pines City Doctors Hospital.

The LTFRB-CAR will also be launching free rides in other provinces and areas in the Cordillera region.

The other government agencies and even the private sector have  been offering free rides for the frontline workers in the Cordillera since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic last year.
