The Municipality of Polanco in Zamboanga del Norte is saddened to receive its first CONFIRMED CASE (Patient 008) in their municipality.
Patient 008 is a 22-year-old male, residing in Barangay Anastacio, employed as an apprentice of Medallion Shipping (Lady of Joy) since February 2020.
The route of travel of Lady of Joy is Cebu to Dipolog and vice versa. Patient 002 (who tested positive last June 13) was a passenger of the same vessel last June 9, 2020.
On June 12, 2020, Patient 008 developed fever, body malaise, and headache. All symptoms had resolved after 2 days but he developed anosmia (loss of sense of smell).
On June 20, 2020, Patient 008 disembarked the ship due to the said symptoms. He was directly transported to the Polanco LIGTAS COVID Center by the authorized vehicle of the MDRRMO.
Patient 008 was swabbed on June 22, 2020 and the result was out today, June 25, 2020.
Currently, Patient 008 has reported improving sense of smell. He still has no fever, cough, colds, sore throat, nor diarrhea.
Rest assured that the Polanco IATF is doing all necessary infection prevention and control measures. We enjoin all Polancohanons to remain calm but vigilant.
