DAVAO CITY – Local police unit in Davao Oriental together with CIDG and Phil Army arrested a man for possessing unlicensed firerams during implementation of search warrant in Caraga, Davao Oriental this morning.
PBGen Marcelo C Morales, Regional Director, said that the operatives composed of Caraga MPS, CIDG and 67IB Phil Army, conducted a joint implementation of search warrant no. 086-2019, issued by Hon. EMILIO G DAYANGHIRANG presiding Judge, dated on October 1, 2019 of RTC Branch 32 Lupon, Davao Oriental, for violation of R.A 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act) against Harry Lagungan Masugod, 45 years old, born on May 8, 1974 male, married, farmer, and a resident of Sitio Dangilas, Brgy. PM Sobrecarey, Caraga, Davao Oriental that resulted in the arrest of aforesaid respondent.
Seized from MASUGOD were one (1) cal. 357 revolver with six (6) pcs. live ammunitions, one (1) air gun rifle cal. 22 loaded with a pellet, a small pouch for airgun ammos with twenty two (22) pcs. pellets, one (1) piece cal. 38 ammunition, three (3) pcs. twelve (12) gauge shotgun ammunitions, two (2) pcs. Cal.5.56 ammunitions, three (3) pcs. rifle grenade with one (1) plastic container.
Further investigation revealed that suspect has pending cases for the crimes of Carnapping, Coercion and Estafa.
Meanwhile, RD Morales emphasized that PRO 11 continues to be alert and not to be nonchalant with security measures.
“Our fight against criminality continues, in fact it has escalated to a higher degree. With the recent terroristic attacks in our nearby provinces, we do not want to be too complacent with our security plans and measures. We have to be alert and conscientiously perform our job because public safety continues to be our top priority,”
Charges for violation of Republic Act (RA) No. 10591 (Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition) and RA 9156 (Illegal Possession of Explosives) are being prepared against the suspect.
