Davao Del Sur Provincial Local Government Units Pours In Several Projects, Livelihood Assistance

The provincial government of Davao del Sur has been providing livelihood assistance and development projects to peoples’ organizations and local government units in different parts of the province since the start of the year.

The Blocon Workers Association (BLOWA) composing of 33 members in the municipality of Magsaysay, was the first to benefit from a ₱ 165,000.00 worth of livelihood assistance intended to be used as an additional capital for small businesses.

Another livelihood assistance amounting to ₱ 200,000.00 was given to the Colonsabac Lumad Farmers Association in Brgy. Colonsabac in Matanao town. The additional capital is to be used for the grocery store and agri-supply.

Governor Douglas Cagas has recently spearheaded the groundbreaking ceremony of the two-hectare relocation site worth ₱ 2 million for the 142 qualified beneficiaries of Brgy. Southern Paligue in Padada on February 12, 2021.

The project is under the Relocation Site Development Program (RSDP).

In Malalag town, Cagas turned over a newly constructed barangay health center worth almost ₱ 2 million in Brgy. Bulacan.

The governor also provided 700 units of digital boxes worth ₱ 1,000 each and 15 units of duplicating machines worth ₱ 200,000.00 each to the Department of Education (DepEd) Davao del Sur.

The budget for the digital boxes and machines was taken from the Provincial Special Education Fund (SEF).

In the municipality of Sta. Cruz, Vice-Governor Marc Cagas has turned over ₱ 18 million worth of one-kilometer concrete road project in Brgy. Inawayan. The project includes road concreting, concrete canals, pipe culverts, and guardrails.

The vice governor also turned over two water reservoirs, a submersible pump with complete accessories and a two-kilometer pipelines costing ₱ 1.5 million to Brgy. Upper Kiagot in Digos City.

The project was funded under the Water Resource Development Program of the province.

The Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) has also distributed assistive devices such as wheelchairs, crutches, walkers, and canes to about 60 persons with disabilities (PWDs) throughout the province.
