City Council to LTFRB: Dry run new route

Bacolod City – The Bacolod Sangguniang Panlungsod is requesting the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) Region VI for a dry run in relation to the request of Ayala Malls Capitol Central for PUVs plying the routes of Eroreco, Alijis, Homesite and Fortune Towne.

The resolution, authored by Councilor Al Victor Espino, said there is a need for conducting a dry run as it provides for an actual feasibility on the said routes, enables the evaluation of alternative routes, ensuring flexibility and adaptability to changing circumstances.

This honorable body acknowledges the importance of considering the perspective of local communities and jeepney operators in public transportation, it said.

The Ayala Malls Capitol Central requested for its inclusion in the route system of public utility vehicles (PUVs) plying in Eroreco, Alijis, Homesite and Fortune Towne, the resolution said.

It is the recommendation of this honorable body to evaluate and implement the said dry run on [the routes] Eroreco, Alijs, Homesite and Fortune Towne, it said.

The chairperson for Committee on Transportation and Traffic urges the LTFRB to conduct thorough assessment for the proposed dry run, taking into account factors such as population density, transportation demand, and accessibility, the resolution said.
